In our 4 days tour from marrakech to merzouga desert, you will discover the landscapes and culture of southern Morocco, the Merzouga desert circuit will take you along certain sections of the trans-Saharan road to discover the Sahara desert and the immense diversity of its landscapes.
These 4 days of total change of scenery will allow you to walk the narrow alleys of the Ksar of Aît Benhaddou and to admire the immensity of the desert from the top of one of the high sand dunes of Erg Chebbi, to taste the comfort of a Berber inn in the heart of the High Atlas and camp in a bivouac in the desert, bask at the edge of a swimming pool on the edge of the desert, dine in the heart of the dunes or in a palm grove…
You will travel in a minibus with a driver and stay in charming accommodation carefully selected for your comfort, authenticity and value for money.
We will pick you up at your accommodation in Marrakech or at the airport and we will leave for Ouarzazate. On the way, you will cross the Atlas by the Tizi-N-Tichka pass, culminating at 2,260 meters in height.
On the way, you will see the Kabash of Aït-ben-Haddou, an incredible fortified city where movies like Gladiator or Kingdom of Heaven were filmed.
After the visit, we will take the road of the “thousand kasbahs” to Skoura, then we will go to Kelaat M’gouna, the capital of the Valley of Roses, to arrive at the Dades Gorges, where you will be accommodated.
After breakfast, we will set off towards the Dades Valley and you will see the Todra Gorges, where you can stay until lunch.
After regaining your strength, you will go to Merzouga crossing the Palmeraie de Jorf (where the best dates in the country are grown) and Arfoud, a pretty village where you can visit a marble workshop.
Once in Merzouga, we will leave the vehicle to enter the desert by camel to the camp where you will spend the night. Here, in the silence of the desert, we will enjoy a traditional Moroccan dinner.
After seeing an incredible sunrise in the desert, you will ride your camels to explore the region in an original way.
You will then pass through the Palmeraie of Tafilalet and the village of Rissani (where the Alaouite dynasty was born and former capital of the Alaouite sultans) to Alnif, where you will take a road that will take you across the Middle Atlas.
Amazed by the shapes and colors of these mountains, you will reach Tizi N’tfarkhin, Tinghir and the Dades Valley and its amazing palm grove. At noon, you will stop at Klaat M’Gouna for lunch and rest before continuing on the road.
In the afternoon, you will arrive in Ouarzazate, where you will spend the night in a riad / kasbah.
After breakfast, you will have the morning to freely visit Ouarzazate. We advise you to take the time to visit the famous Kasbah Taourirt and the Atlas Cinema studios, the most important in Africa. You will leave Ouarzazate between 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.
back to Marrakech in the afternoon.
